Other than my usual brunch and dinner spots, I usually just wander around the city seeing what I run in to. If you have a little bit of time, getting out to Howth and walking around it really nice.

I've been here a few times but it's always brief.

I tried to avoid listing too much of the popular tourist spots. Trains are not as abundant as Tokyo, but the bus will get you where you need to go.

I get asked for LA recs fairly often because I'm "from there", but the truth is I grew up about an hour out of the city, and when I did live there I was broke and never went out. Also it's just so massive, there is no way to have a comprehensive list. I have been able to do a lot more exploring over the last decade though, and have found some great spots. This maybe goes beyond the scope of LA proper, but that's just how it goes.

My home for over a decade. Lots of great food and drink all over the city.

I've spent the bulk of my time in Manhattan, so most of my recs are based on that.

Where I currently live. A great food city with lots of surrounding nature to explore.

Tokyo is unbelievably massive, and there is so much to see and do. I feel that the best approach is to plan out your days by neighborhoods, seeing everything you want within each area. Saving all of your spots on a google map list is super helpful so you can see what you’re working with.

My hometown! You'll likely be around the downtown / Main St. area if visiting, so a lot of things around around there. Walk the pier, go up to the cross, eat all of the Mexican food.
