Stylish restaurant housed in a former dye shop, serving wood-fired pizza & seasonal vegetable sides.
A bit far from other things, but if the plum blossoms are in bloom, this is a MUST.
If you like incense, I highly recommend this shop.
My fav coffee spot I've found so far.
As a train kid (and adult), I loved this.
If you're into matcha, highly recommend Uji as a whole. This is a great place to buy it.
Well-known store featuring traditional Japanese mochi rice cakes & making demonstrations. If you're in the area it's definitely worth it. Watch them hammer it out in the window.
See the huge temple and watch people get assulted by the bowing deer.
This was great. You'll need reservations in advance. In busier seasons you may even need to enter a lottery.
Long food market. Gets a little hectic but worth seeing.
Random little art shop we discovered in this mall. Lots of cool prints to buy.
A little dango stand. Very fresh and very good.
A traditional style inn with an onsen attached. Breakfast buffet and late night ramen bar. Close to the train station and overall pretty convenient.
